Vaser Liposuction by Dr. Breitbart
Vaser Liposuction (also known as Liposelection) is a revolutionary, patented technology for eliminating unwanted, stubborn fat in the body*. Vaser Liposuction works by using ultrasonic energy to break up compacted, tough fatty deposits without harming the surrounding organs or tissues; and with minimal pain and discomfort while smoothing the body’s curves and contours*.
Treated Body Areas by Vaser Lipo
How Vaser Liposuction works
Similar to that of body jet liposuction, the fat is liquidized for easy removal, with the difference being that ultrasound waves are used instead of water. Causing almost no damage to the surrounding tissues, larger amounts of fat can be removed at one time, saving the patient time, money, and pain. Repeat visits are not necessary.
After the fat has been liquidized, a local anesthetic numbs the area, and a thin cannula (approximately 3 millimeters in diameter) is inserted into an incision about the size of a pencil tip. The liquidized fat cells are then gently suctioned away. Other body contouring methods only allow about half a liter of fat to be removed, but Vaser liposuction allows up to seven (7) liters of fat to be extracted in one session without danger to the patient.
In addition to allowing for the removal of more fat, patients who undergo Vaser liposuction can expect quicker recovery periods, less bruising and swelling, and far less pain. The skin of the liposuctioned areas remains soft and supple, and has a more youthful appearance. The use of ultrasound waves to break down the fat cells causes no pain; the only pain involved will be from the incision and the insertion of the cannula, but this is counteracted by the use of a local anesthetic.
Normal life activities can be resumed as soon as the very next day after surgery; not even body jet liposuction has that quick of a recuperation period! The ability to be very accurate with this procedure means there is no tissue damage and larger amounts of fat can be extracted in one sitting. Because a local anesthetic is used, the patient can stay awake and watch the surgery being performed - something many people find quite fascinating!
